Apparent widths of SE & SW corner of LE A1, B1 & B2 stamps

Hi Everone,
To start I am a new member of GBPS and this my first post here.
This may be a bit nurdy but here goes. Whilst rechecking the plating of my modest collection of LE stamps using your Brown/Fisher methodology, I began to notice that the width of many SE corners appeared to be often larger than the SW. So, I measured/compared around 120, and in 91% had SE wider corners, whilst 9% of the cases the SW was wider. In % terms the widest SW corner was about 4% wider, whereas the widest SE corner was nearer 7.5%. Now this does not seem large if you were attempting to measure the 'a' or 'd' distance on a 3 margin stamp with plating gauge from the inside of the corner....
Interestingly the visible heights of both corners appeared to be very similar though I did not test this.
The question is am I barking up the wrong tree, or has this topic been discussed before?
regards Chris

Chris, Welcome to the GBPS.
Your question isn't nerdy, but I don't know the answer. May I please ask another group for their views, if any, to your question? Winston
