I don't have this and do not remember having seen a reference to it in the literature. Interesting, though.

Dear Asmodeus,

As a recent newcomer to the discussion board, I'm browsing back contributions and finding much of interest - but a very sad lack of response to queries like this one of yours. The scan is excellent, and seeing the fibres on the breaks of the perfs and other details so well is fascinating. What a pity nobody was able to look at their collection and respond helpfully (Bob was on the way!).

Unfortunately my entire collection of KGVI is either cylinder blocks or various pieces with accidentals or errors. And I assume the error is not on any cylinder blocks. You checked them all?

In my study of the '37 Coronation 1½d, I attempted a plating study, the way people do with QV penny reds. Only I only had the constant flaws to be my guide. I've always been amazed at how many flaws there are in KGVI definitives and wondered if anybody has ever attempted a plating of at least some cylinders. Or is there just too much material?

Anyway, three years on... did you ever trace the stamp with your neck flaw? I'll bet its a constant - and does merit recording.

All the best, Robin Restall
