Could use help rating a 1976 cover

Post by ldhaber »

I have what appears to be a 20 December 1976 cover from Renfrewshire to the US, via airmail.

The cover is franked with a 6½p regional Scots and ½p Machin. The cover has no discernible back stamp but there are some marking that are barely visible.

I cannot figure out the franking of this cover with my Wawrukiewicz book of GB rates. Airmail to the US at this time was 11p for the first 15gr.

I'd appreciate some help her in figuring out the franking.

Both the front and rear of the covers have been uploaded.

Thanks in advance,

Larry Haber

The rate of 7p was the Zone B air mail rate for printed papers and small packets, introduced on 26 April 1976.
