I'm intrigued by the attached registered cover from Wales. It appears to have been posted locally, from and to Abertillery vicinity. I think I understand it all, but if anybody can enlighten me on any of the marks or details, I'll be delighted.
But what really puzzles me are the initials of the registration cache, all equally blurred. I guess it was a rubber stamp that was worn.
If anybody recognizes the stamp and can tell me what the initials are, and better yet, what they stand for, I'll be really grateful
Thanks for anything! Cheers, Robin R.

Robin, Your cover was posted in LONDON WCDO, WC 1, to WALES. The lettering on the cancellation is "REGISTERED/WCDO, WC 1" and the registration label shows that the letter was posted, probably by a firm, at the main office in the West Central District Office. I believe that at that time the main office was at the back of Mount Pleasant, the same building which housed the East Central (or London City) District Office. Harvey

Thanks a bundle, Harvey, There's none so blind as those that don't look! I did miss the LONDON on the label! Mind you, that wouldn't have helped me with the initials. Silly how one can get foxed by something and so get blinded by others.
Your knowledge of the post office and its workings is incredible. All the very best, Robin
