1984 SG1254

In my "spares" I have an SG1254 16p stamp from the Grenwich Meridian series which the backgound behind the Earth is black instead of blue. Is this a common error as I have not been able to find anything about this.
The only error listed is one of black double printing which refers to the wording at the bottom. Only one stamp has been found so far with this error.
