Privacy and Cookies

The login procedure for the GBPS website makes use of standard "cookies" (text files consisting of a login code sent to your browser, which will return them on future page requests to authenticate you as the person who logged in). You are legally entitled to refuse the use of these cookies – however, since you need to actually register for an account with the site before you can log in, registering will be taken as agreement to allow them. Please note that access to some features of the site requires you to be logged in (posting on the discussion boards, for example).

This is a fairly standard procedure for logging in to sites, we hasten to add, so shouldn't cause any privacy problems.

The other use of cookies on the site is via Google Analytics, which allows us to collect statistics on how many people access the site and individual pages and the way they access it. (The standard Google privacy statement is given below.) Again, this is a standard method that we hope won't cause any concerns, but if it does, you will need to block the cookies in your browser (or not make use of the GBPS site, but we hope that won't be necessary).
