Report of a possible penny red plate 77 found.

A report of a possible find of a penny red plate 77 has just been made on the Stamp Magazine forum by a John Crawford, the following details can be found on......

Apparently it's a false alarm as Mr Tim Clarke, a specialist on these issues has confirmed it is a plate 177 due to the placement of the 7's and the positioning of the check letters.

Ah well ! we all live in hopes of one day finding that elusive stamp.

I have just received further information that the finder of the stamp is not fully convinced of Mr Clarke's answer and is seeking further specialist opinions as to it's authenticity.
