1935 Silver Jubilee 1½d new perf type?

Post by Harvey »

In a recently purchased mixed lot of control pieces, the vertical strip of three 1½d 1935 Silver Jubilee stamps shown here was included, from cylinder 7 stop. It is the second such item I have seen in the past year with this type of perforation, which has not previously been reported. The other sighting was a block of nine, sold on eBay for somewhere north of £50!
My query is this: does anyone know if this a previously unreported but genuine perforation type, or is it a complete out and out fake?
Ian Harvey has seen a scan and suggests that it COULD be genuine, as the marginal perforations appear to line up with the inter-stamp perforations, and that it COULD be the precursor of the perforation type with two holes in the left margin, known to exist only on cylinder 7 stop of the 1½d.
Any help greatly appreciated!
