During the late stages of the Die I Printings in 1922 a Plate Flaw developed on Plate 9b with control T22 Row 20.2 in the form of a white area over PO of POSTAGE. Shown here are two different control singles bearing this unlisted constant variety together with a close up view of the plate flaw. I would be interested to know if any other members have seen this plate flaw. So far, I have only recorded this plate flaw with control T22.

I have a Control Block of 6, Plate 9b, which shows the flaw and which came from the Oswald Marsh stock. I also have two Q21(P) blocks of 6 Plate 9b (both with the screw head impression) also ex Marsh which do not show the flaw. Perhaps more interestingly, I have the T22(I) block of 6 overprinted for the Provisional Govt of Ireland SG33 which shows the flaw although it is partially obscured by the overprint. Other Plate 9b blocks overprinted for Morocco Agencies and Bechuanaland R21(p) do not show the flaw.
