liverpool multi roller cancellation machine

Post by MIKE »

I am trying to find some information regarding the Liverpool multi roller cancellation machine, having recently purchased a high value with this cancellation but appears to be three cancellations side by side with the continuous 466 number across the stamp - is this correct, I also have just found a bantum with what appears to be the type 1 format but is in a blue black ink - is this unusual and did they employ such inks at that period.

Only online reference I know is

There are some blue-black inks -- possibly just mixed inks due to using the wrong pad?

Many thanks for the reply, I had seen this site but was interested in any other information from members.
This blue/black ink is rather interesting, the amount of this so called colour in the lilac overprints is costing me a fortune and with no positive results.
Again thanks for the input - Mike
