Four Corner Penny Red Identification

Post by larry rausch »

I am almost finished with a database with all 144,960 cropped corners of the four corner penny reds. If I produce a free program for you to visually compare your unidentified Penny Reds to these cropped corners to determine the plate number, will collectors use or want such a program?
I am still missing 1,400 corners to complete this database if you are willing to search and scan your stamps please contact me at stonywoods840@gmail.com for the list of missing corners.

Hi Larry -- that sounds interesting. I'm guessing from that number that you're referring to the Penny Reds with letters in all four corners? Something to identify the stamps when the numbers are obscured would definitely have value.
