Constant flaws on cylinder 3, 1937 Coronation stamp.

Post by Robinr »

Dear All,

Does anybody have a list, or scans,of the flaws on Cylinder 3 of the 1937 Coronation stamp, either with or without stop?

If so, please contact me. I have a thorough check of both panes, but only from singles and need to be able to confirm what is constant and what is ephemeral. From a study of over 40 control blocks it is apparent there are two clear states for this cylinder and obviously I have those 12 stamps nailed down, but it is the rest of the cylinder I'm concerned with.

Incidentally, the deterioration of the bottom row appears to be progressive, and comparing an early example with a late-printed one would give a false impression of states.

By all means contact me off-site as the subject might be rather uninteresting for some.

Cheers and thanks,

Robin (robinrestall@gmail.com).
