Dear Anon,
Your turn to raise an interesting issue!
As there is not, by any account, and authoritative source of information about the colonial post offices - like for example, when was any Portugese territory part of a British colony? how can, or on what basis does a certifying authority KNOW whther an overprint is official or genuine?
As I mentioned elsewhere, I have two examples of the '37 Coronation stamp overprinted CANCELLED. One has a certificate of genuineness, the other has a certificate of fake!
Now, when I mount these two on a sheet - can I also mount the certificates (or reduced photocopies)?
Cheers, Robin R.
