Hi all,

a couple of months ago I found surfiing the internet the 1866 or 1867 post office guide completely scanned from page one to the end. Problem is that I can not find it now! Could someone post a link?

Thanks

Not sure if it is what you're looking for but here is one from 1856:

sorry, I can't find on the web ones for 1867, but can for that of April 1873 at https://download.digitale-sammlungen.de ... r=&x=8&y=3

If you live in England and can get to the British Postal Museum & Archive, Freeling House, Phoenix Place, London, they have originals for the period in question.

Just to note that there are now quite a number of PO Guides available for download on the GBPS site (including the 1867 one, as it happens):

I recently posted scans of my 1860 PO Guide for Head Postmasters on Stampboards

Hope it might be of interest.

Many thanks. The contemporary mid-19th century documents can have all sorts of interesting snippets. A labour of love scanning the Rule's pages almost 60 times.

I wonder if our webmaster Maurice could get that in pdf readable format and put the file into the Resources section?

With Sark's permission, I've done a PDF version of this, with OCR'd text and bookmarks to the main sections (approx 50MB). It can be downloaded from the website at:
