I got this letter and also a few similar.
Does anyone know why this is 2 times sent to the same address?
What was the procedure?

Looks to me as if the account was sent in February, then the same document used as a receipt in March - anyone any other ideas ? Tony |

Hi Tony, Thanks for your reply. You are right, It has been sent as an invoice and the second time as a receipt for payment. But how did this work? Was the invoice sent back to Birkenhead in an other envelope together with the payment (cheque, postal order, cash)?? |

When, in the dim and distant past, people were trusted to pay for goods or services on receipt of an invoice, I believe that is how the system worked, but without more information, it is difficult to prove in this instance. The receipted invoice would have been returned as proof of payment. |
