Since this was posted new Government regulations have been issued, under which meetings will not be able to go ahead. Please keep an eye on the website for developments.
Since the Newsletter and Programme Card went to the printers we have had confirmation from the Royal that we will be able to hold our meeting of 17 October 2020.
In addition, as Autumn Stampex has been cancelled we have arranged a booking with the Royal to hold an additional all-day meeting in September. This too has now been confirmed with the Royal.
So, our first meeting of the new season will actually be on Saturday 26 September 2020 at the Royal Philatelic Society, 15 Abchurch Lane, London EC4N 7BW from 11:00 a.m. The morning session will consist of a display from our new President, Chris Harman RDP HonFRPSL, entitled "The Inland Revenue 1d Lilac". The afternoon session, commencing at 2:15pm, will consist of Members’ Displays on the theme of the 1d Lilac.
This is a call to dig out from your collections your interesting 1d Lilac material and bring it along to show to members. 1-2 frames (of up to 16 sheets per frame) are ideal. Please bring something along to show. As always, advance notice of what you plan to bring (type of material and quantity) is useful to help speed up planning the running order on the day so please contact Stephen Teuma via firstname.lastname@example.org or ring him on 01394 246224 with brief details.
There will be some inevitable social distancing restrictions in place when we meet, but as the rules change from time to time we may not know exactly what they are until much nearer the date. You will be briefed on the day to ensure everyone understands the rules and complies as best they can. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
As you will expect all the above is subject to there being no further lockdowns or other restrictions put in place which might prevent us from going ahead with the meeting. Please see the GBPS website for all the latest information. Those without internet access can call Steve on the above number for an update nearer the time.
