Cylinder numbers and dates when used

Post by 17them+ »

I am trying to get an understanding across all four values of the E8R sheet stamps of what E8R cylinder numbers were put into service when. Would you have a look at any used stamps on cover that have the selvage still attached that show the cylinder number. If you find any please let me know. If I record enough of them I should get an understanding when they were used.

I have about 40 on cover and 20 off with sufficient date detail and will try to put them into a table of some kind tomorrow.

I presume dot/no dot do not need to be kept separate for this exercise.

Many thanks. And yes, I'm not worried about dot or no dot.

actually you only need the earliest dates as they were still being posted years later. Enclosed my modest overview. Interested to see the results.
