Postal rates

Can anyone please point me at a source for the GB (letter) postal rates from 1840 to the current day ?
I believe the following books are the main ones dealing with the period you want:
United Kingdom Letter Rates 1635-1900 by Colin Tabeart (2nd edn 2003).
British Civilian Postage Rates of the 20th Century by Michael Furfie (2000).
British Postal Rates 1937 to 2000 by Robert Johnson and Gordon Peet (2000).
