A prickly situation !

A fellow collector by the name of Chazz Broadhurst brought up the topic regarding all of the 4d,5d and 6d values, ranging from the original 1937 dark to the 1950 colour changes as to variations found on the Thistle head in the top right of the stamps with distinct differences that he posted on the "Stamp Magazine" forum, as can be seen on the following link :-

Here's a snapshot I took along with positional part of the sheet, there appears to be no mention in the GB specialised, and that was his main concern ! At looking at row 11/8 stamp there appears to be two small dots in evidence between E of postage & rose leaf plus a further dot between the rose & leaf, with a small extension line in the orb under cross on crown, they are only minor flaws, but combined could be of significance, here is an enlarged version of the stamp in question :- If any qualified member could help him, I'm sure he would be most appreciative, also the minor flaws arrow marked as in the scan (are they a constant feature ?) For my interest thank you, WM.
