Anonymous letter threatening the Postmaster General

Whereas an Anonymous Letter has been sent to the Right Hon. Thomas Earl of Leicester, his Majesty' Post-Master General, in the following Terms:

"My Lord,1753.

"I find that it was by your Orders that Mr. Stockdale was hung in Chains; Now if you dont order him to be taken down, I will set Fire to your House, and blow your Brains out the first Opportunity.

Thursday October 11th."

To the Rt. Hon. the Earl of Leicester at Holkham, Norfolk.

This is to offer a Reward of One Hundred Pounds to any who shall or may make Discovery of the Party or Parties concerned in Writing or Sending the abovesaid Letter, so that he, she or they, be convicted thereof, together with his Majesty's most Gracious Pardon for any Accomplice, who shall make Discovery of the same.
