To all Postmasters.

You will see by the following Copy of an Advertisement in the London Gazette, and in all the London Newspapers, that the Postmaster General have been pleased to encrease the Allowance of Three-pence @ Mile, for the Conveyance of Expresses, to Four-pence Halfpenny; which, with Three Halfpence for the Post-Horse Duty, will make Six-pence @ Mile, and to allow One Shilling to the Rider for each Stage, in order to encourage the Acceleration: And their Lordships expect you will in future convey all Expresses at the Rate of Seven Miles at least within the Hour, including the Change of Horses at each Stage.

Expresses on His Majesty's Service do not pay the Post-Horse Duty.
