Hello all, I read in the SG QV specialized: "The green ink used for some printings of J104/114 contained an unstable yellow element which could be removed to produce a blue colour changeling" Does this mean that these stamps also exist in blue instead of green? Any pictures please? Thanks ...

Steve, I have just seen your message - after 4 months since you posted it! The 2 1/2 d Jubilee was almost always used in British Levant in its overprinted version reading "40 PARAS". However uses of this stamp in the unoverprinted form were also possible from Br Levant when used to pay par...

Hello all,

I am looking for GB covers to Italy and Greece in September 1870.
If anyone could post scans here it would be great.

Late Fee covers

Dear all,

I am trying to find examples of GB mail to abroad up to 1875 sent unprepaid (ie postage to be paid by the addressee), with Late Fee paid by the sender in stamps.

I would appreciate to hear from anyone that would have such examples to show.

Thanks!

Hi all,

a couple of months ago I found surfiing the internet the 1866 or 1867 post office guide completely scanned from page one to the end. Problem is that I can not find it now! Could someone post a link?

Help with British Censorship of Civil Mails During World War I by Graham Mark

Hi all, I remember when I browsed the book "British Censorship of Civil Mails During World War I by Graham Mark" a few years ago, that there was a picture of a July 1914 cover from Salonika (Austrian Post) to Belgium or Holland that was censored in transit in London. As I do not have this ...

1867 Book Post Rate

Dear All,

does anyone have details of the "Book Post" rates from UK to Greece in 1867?

As many of you know the excellent "British Letter Mail to Overseas Destinations" book by Jane and Michael Moubray, oly lists letter mail, so is of no help in this case.

In the Vivien Sussex collection of Express Mail offered by Grosvenor (20/11/2007) there were 3 lots of this kind (80, 82, 83). I suspect that you have already seen them, but just in case:

Tony, have a look at this dealer's list as he is selling both "toned papers" (indigo and DPB - with certificates)used in GB. So, yes these rare shades were used at "home" and clearly the Levant climatic conditions have nothing to do with the shades of these stamps. Best regards. ...

I think that the reason SG does not list prices for used examples of shades 15, 16 and 18 is the fact that they appear very infrequently on the market - In contrast shade 17 is not that rare. As a matter of fact I have seen 2-3 certified used examples of the N21(16)- the other two 15 and 18 must be ...
