Re: Q V Penny reds on scottish cover
GOOD EVENING AB 1961 That is a great bit of detective work. Just an Edinburgh MX is good news. Strangely enough,I heard only this week from another Member that a town or city which has an allocated number as a Post Town would have had an MX. I would always hold onto a nice pair of Red Stars like the...

Re: scan1822 ON HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE WITH UNKNOWN LETTERS "L.T.R"
Hi
I really appreciate this clarification. Shame it's just a front, but if you do find an explanation of Freeling's involvement, I am very grateful for your interest & help.
Thank you.

scan1822 ON HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE WITH UNKNOWN LETTERS "L.T.R"
Reference to this topic which I posted earlier today, I have now found old files with instruction for attachments. So here is my scan of the letter front. Could you please help identify the significance of the final 3 letters? As there are stops between them I did not think they are merely an abbrev...

1822 O H M S letter, with unknown heading
Can you please help me to identify the significance of the printed letters "L . T . R" on an "On His Majesty's service" letter front? They are all in the same text WITH DOTS BETWEEN THESE 3 Letters which would indicate they are not just an abbreviation for "letter". I h...

Re: Penny Red SG 29 block of 4
Hi That would help me a lot please, as I am still finding my way. I did set out in Sales forum I think but obviously took a wrong turning. Thank you. PS I don't use Internet explorer so had difficulty adding the image. Picture wizard works ok for me normally but I think I was lucky that my image got...

SOLD Penny Red SG 29 block of 4
This is from an early printing, red-brown on blued paper, plate 32. 'BH' does NOT have the later constant flaw "gash on forehead".
Is this block is of interest to a specialised Penny Red collector who has the later printing(s), with the Flaw? The price is £20.

Q V Penny reds on scottish cover
Can you please identify the Maltese crosses on this cover? As it is from Banff, I wondered if these crosses were of special interest. I have just bought the cover at a Stockport fair where there is a good attendance of dealers, monthly.,usually on the last Tuesday.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Scottish Maltese cross on pair of Penny reds
This vertical pair of Penny Reds on cover was bought by me recently up here in Stockport. With the Banff back stamp I would like to hear if this is a known Maltese Cross please. Or perhaps is it another known Maltese Cross?
