Hello,
Can anyone tell me if there was any crash mail from the flight made by J Erroll Boyd In Miss Columbia that crash landed on the island of Tresco, Isles of Scilly 10th October 1930? I am trying to find if there were any examples and if they would have been stamped on the Islands and if so what would be the current book value for this kind of cover?
Thank you for your time
Tim

Re: Miss Columbia
Hello,
Bit late - but yes there is "crash" mail from this flight.
No Scilly backstamp - mine has Dublin (13 Oct.) - most will be London (13 Oct.)
Mine addressed to Dublin - as it is part of "Irish Airmail" display
- one of four recorded to Ireland
(which possibly raised its price?) From memory it was into the two/three hundred pound region.
Possibly from a Grosvenor auction some 5-8 years ago -
regards, Peter
